I-PEM Commits to:
1. “wear a jumper” – turn down the heat – heating and hot water can account for 60% of a building’s total costs*
*(http://www.theclimatechangecharter.co.uk/toptentips.asp)
2. Trust the BMS, and if it is broken fix it rather than open and close windows!
3. Turn out the lights when we leave the office
4. Keep the fridge door shut in the kitchen
5. Use eco friendly cleaning products in our offices
6. Turn off the monitors. We will not leave our machines on standby because standby still uses power (- same goes for electrical items at home)
7. Turn off the computers when we leave
8. Travel by public transport whenever practicable
9. Use video conferencing and web conferencing to reduce amounts of travel further
10. Recycle- paper, plastics & glass
11. Fit water saving devices to toilet cisterns
12. Make sure that the taps are turned off and fix dripping taps so as not to waste water
13. Make the most of natural day light – keep our windows clean
14. Keep our furniture clear of radiators
15. Turn off the heating
